Digi-Spirituality©:  Navigating Technology 5.0 and Spirituality 5.0

The evolution of Technology 5.0 and the concept of Society 5.0 signify a revolution in the integration of technology and society faced by the world, including Indonesia. Technology 5.0 represents a continuation of previous eras, merging artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, robotics, cloud computing, and other technologies with a focus on human-centric and sustainable technological development. Meanwhile, Society 5.0 refers to a vision of a human-centered society where technology is utilized to enhance quality of life, solve social issues, and achieve sustainability.

Amidst the advancements in technology, there are several negative impacts that need to be addressed, both globally and at the national level like in Indonesia. Some challenges include technological disparities between urban and rural areas, as well as between developed and developing nations, unequal access and usage of technology leading to increased social and economic inequalities, privacy and data security vulnerabilities, human skill degradation due to automation and artificial intelligence, and the potential for “technological colonization”. Equally significant is how Indonesians prepare themselves to face the challenges of this era.

“Digi-Spirituality© conceptualized by Luluk Sumiarso, a former Indonesian energy bureaucrat, is a part of Diripedia© – a platform of knowledge and learning intended to gather, integrate, and expand knowledge about the human self—body, mind, and spirit. By combining scientific and non-scientific knowledge and integrating the physical (Objective Reality-R1), mental (Subjective Reality-R2), and spiritual (Transcendental Reality-R3) aspects, a holistic and integrated understanding of the human self can be created. Digi-Spirituality not only encompasses scientific information about the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of humanity but also incorporates rich traditional knowledge of life values and local wisdom, namely the Noble Teachings of Nusantara actualized in Spirituality 5.0© (Digi-Spirituality©).

To enrich content and expand collaboration networks with various parties in disseminating Diripedia, Luluk established a non-profit and non-political organization called The Nusantarara Institute of Diripedia (NIoD).

The Nusantara Institute of Diripedia (NIoD) was founded with the aim of becoming a center of excellence in the development of knowledge about the human self rooted in the ancestral teachings of Nusantara. In an era marked by rapid technological advancement and social transformation, NIoD is committed to unearth the noble values of Nusantara and actualize them into modern contexts. With a strong vision and clear mission, NIoD strives to create balanced individuals through deep and holistic self-understanding.

Vision of NIoD:

To become a center of excellence in the development of Diripedia as a comprehensive and integrated source of knowledge about the human self, inspired by the ancestral teachings of Nusantara, to realize balanced individuals.

This vision reflects NIoD’s aspiration to not only be a center of knowledge but also a catalyst for individual and societal transformation. Diripedia, as the core of NIoD, is designed to be a comprehensive and integrative source of information, combining ancestral wisdom with contemporary understanding of the human self.

Mission of NIoD:

  1. Unearthing and Actualizing Noble Values of Nusantara into Spirituality 5.0 (Digi-Spirituality©) to Address the Impacts of Technology 5.0 and Society 5.0.
NIoD is committed to rediscovering the noble values inherited from the ancestors of Nusantara. These values are then actualized into the concept of Spirituality 5.0 (Digi-Spirituality©), which is a new approach to addressing the impacts of technological revolution and social change in the era of Technology 5.0 and Society 5.0. With this approach, NIoD aims to create a balance between technological progress and human spirituality.
  2. Providing a Comprehensive Diripedia Learning Platform to Ensure Accessibility and Availability of Information about Human Self-Understanding to the General Public.
NIoD develops Diripedia, a comprehensive and easily accessible learning platform for everyone. This platform is designed to be a complete and reliable source of knowledge about human self-understanding. Thus, the general public can access the necessary information to understand themselves more deeply and holistically.

  3. Conducting Education and Training Programs to Develop Human Potential Holistically.
To achieve the vision of balanced individuals, NIoD organizes various education and training programs designed to develop human potential comprehensively. These programs encompass various aspects, from intellectual to spiritual development, to ensure individuals can achieve balance and harmony in their lives.
  4. Enhancing Awareness and Literacy of Digi-Spirituality© in Society.
NIoD endeavors to enhance awareness and literacy of Digi-Spirituality© among society. Through campaigns, seminars, and workshops, NIoD introduces this concept widely and helps people understand the importance of integrating technology with spirituality. Thus, NIoD acts as a bridge between technological advancement and deep spiritual wisdom.

Conclusion

The Nusantara Institute of Diripedia (NIoD) stands at the forefront of addressing the challenges of the modern era by leveraging the wealth of ancestral teachings of Nusantara. With a strong vision and mission, NIoD is committed to being a center of excellence in the development of knowledge about the human self, helping society achieve better self-understanding, and ultimately, realizing balanced individuals who harmonize technology and spirituality.
